It was the summer that never seemed to end, and this particular August Saturday was no exception.
We decided to take the scenic route from Newhey across the Lancashire-Yorkshire border, taking in a quick pit stop at the Saddleworth Hotel near Delph, skirting near Marsden Moor Estate and crossing the Pennine Bridleway.
What a fantastic drive!
Big blue skies around us, dramatic scenery – it brought to mind the classic ‘Italian Job’ intro ‘On Days Like These’ sung by Matt Monro – although without the super-powered Lamborghini Miura. In fact the rather more modestly-sized engine of Florence meant lots of gear changes and cries of “Come on little car!”
We descended into the pretty village of Honley for Kristina and Scott’s wedding which took place in the local church, a lovely dark stone Victorian building and we knew straight away the photos would look great.
