Harriett & George – ‘A Downton Dream’

Harriet got in touch last-minute as unfortunately her booking with an alternative supplier had to be cancelled. She very much wanted a classic Fiat 500 as her wedding car, being an owner of the modern version.

It was back over the Pennines for us, with Harriet and George getting married in their local church, before going to the magnificent Bowcliffe Hall in Yorkshire for their wedding breakfast and reception.

Harriet and her dad travelled from her family home to the church, so George didn’t see Florence until they came out – his face was a picture! Being fairly tall, I think he was worried whether he would fit in Florence! However he very soon got in the spirit of it and enjoyed the journey.

As we made our way along the sweeping driveway to Bowcliffe Hall, nothing prepares you for how impressive the building is. Built in the early 19th century, it’s a beautiful stone building – very Downton Abbey!

Harriet and George spent some time having photos with Florence, and I can’t emphasise enough how lovely it is to spend some quality time together as a couple before the reception celebrations start. It’s a moment to cherish, just the two of you, enjoying a glass of bubbly and getting some photos, with the roof open, if the weather allows!

While having their photos taken, a few guests came outside to admire Florence – and George took the opportunity to get a photo taken pretending to push Florence, to great cheers and laughs from the assembled guests!

We were so glad we were able to help Harriet and George add the finishing special touch to their day. And what a fantastic venue!
